I'm Liking List Form This Week!

-I downloaded and started using Page Four. So far, so good. I like that I can easily access my character drafts, and create chapter notes all in one tabbed window. I don't have to keep clicking back and forth into Open Office documents. I'm going to play around with it more to see if it's worth the $39.95 license, or if the free version is enough for me.
-I finally have something to report for Swimmer's Page a Day Writing Challenge! It's day seven and it's my first day reporting, which is a pretty pathetic effort on my part, BUT I wrote about a page and a half last night. Most of it was rubbish, but something is better than nothing! I know I will make up for lost time starting last week when I am officially a Stay at Home Aspiring Author/Domestic Engineer.
-The wonderful Maggie Stiefvater will be appearing at my local library on Monday. I signed up to attend, and hopefully I'll be able to. It's in the late afternoon, and since we are a one car family, I'm crossing my fingers and toes my husband will get off work early enough. I was afraid I'd be the only adult there, but Maggie responded to a tweet I sent her about the event saying there would be a lot of adults there, and the children's librarian told me the same thing. :wipes brow: By the way, have you seen the trailer she made for Linger? It's out of this world amazing.

-I decided to make a character/writing inspiration board to put above my desk to refer to when I'm feeling frustrated. I have a few inspirational quotes, and images of actors who look most like the images I have in my mind for my characters. Do any of you do this?

  3. Yep - I have an inspiration board too! It's so much fun, because I share it with my husband who is an illustrator and we get quite the mash up!

  4. I have a character board, which is very similar to your inspiration board. It has pictures of what my characters look like (actors and models), a list of their character traits so that when I do revisions I can ask myself, "Would she really act that way?", maps of the world I built, etc. But since I usually write on the couch they're all over the place, and it drives my husband insane.

  6. Ooh, Lenore, how lucky that your husband is an illustrator! I would love to be able to draw more accurate character sketches!

Heather, that's a great idea to put character traits up there as well!

Sheri, thanks again for the award!
