Where Do You Write?

A few days ago, Liz at Brave New Writer posted what her writing workspace looks like. I always love these sort of posts, so here's mine! My husband and I share an office, but we're rarely in it at the same time, but if we are, it's large enough that our chairs aren't bumping into each other. My desk is on the small side to keep down clutter. In the past I've had larger desks and they are always covered with crap.

My desk is in between my husband's bookcase to the left, and my excess bookcase to the right. I use it mostly for excess books and to store books I have listed for sale on amazon.

Close-up of my desk. My computer has a name, and it's Pinkybelle. Pinkybelle is a great computer 99% of the time. I've forgiven her for that time she crashed the week before my wedding. I only have a few cords, stray items and a pen cup on the top. Above the computer is the inspiration board for my current WiP. I'm going to add inspiration photos for my new WiP shortly.

More junk, filing cabinet and my beloved laser printer, which is getting a lot of use now that I'm beginning revisions. Oh, and the Lord of the Rings poster I bought at Comic-Con that my dad made a custom frame for me with the symbols of various lands in Lord of the Rings. Me, a nerd? You jest.

My husband's desk, and my constant companion, Quincy. I have three cats, and I adore them all, but Q is my cat for sure. When I'm writing, he's usually at my feet or sitting nearby.

So that's my work place, what about yours?

  1. Love your writing space! Your desk is so cute with the pink. The room looks very clean and organized, and of course you have a furry companion to help you write.

My husband also has a desk in my office but I didn't take photos of it because it was so messy...

  2. My husband hates clutter, so the stuff you see on his desk was actually left there by me because I have no room on my desk. :p

  4. Beautiful! I knew my big sprawling desk was just enabling my clutter. I need to downsize. :)
