Each week I participate in Tune In Tuesday, hosted by GReads. This week is Soundtrack Edition.
This week's soundtrack choice is from one of the best movie soundtracks ever. "Marie Antionette" isn't one of my favorite movies, really. It's beautiful to look at, but the plot is kind of lacking. The soundtrack, however, is made of awesome. New Order, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Gang of Four, The Cure...it's been years since the film came out and I still listen to the soundtrack regularly.
My pick from the soundtrack is New Order's "Ceremony". It's actually a Joy Division song, released as the New Order's first single back in 1981 after Ian Curtis' death.

This is the second time this movie's soundtrack has popped up & I had no idea about it. This is why I love this feature :-)
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing a preview for "Marie Antoinette" in theaters where this song (I think) was playing in the background -- and I knew I HAD to see the movie! I agree with you that the film itself was disappointing, but the soundtrack was awesome!
ReplyDeleteHere are my picks for this week: http://christina-reads.livejournal.com/168286.html.
